Join us for a full day workshop with Sara Lawson, a pattern designer, teacher, sewist, and author of the soon to be released book “Big-City Bags”.  Sara lives, sews, and blogs in Chicago, and is known for her bag designs and patterns.  She will be teaching her recently released pattern, the Aragon Bag, which can be used as a diaper bag, carry-on bag, or if you just have a lot of stuff.  The bag is an intermediate-level pattern, some beginner experience with bag sewing will be helpful.  A digital pattern is included in the price of the workshop and will be sent to you prior to the workshop.  The pattern includes a material list, and some advance preparation is required.  To find out more about Sara and the Aragon bag, please visit her blog, SewSweetness.
***Participants will be selected by lottery at the November 17 meeting.
If you wish to attend the workshop full payment is due at the November 17 meeting in a sealed envelope that contains the following:
            -Full payment (cash or check)
-A separate piece of paper with your name, address, phone number, and email address
If you are not able to be at the meeting but want to go to the workshop you can mail your payment and contact information to the treasurer*. Mailed checks *must be received* by the treasurer before the November meeting to be part of the lottery. Postmarked dates will not apply.
Envelopes will be collected at the beginning of the meeting. At the break envelopes will be drawn and numbered in the order drawn. This will determine a person’s spot in the workshop. The guild reserves the right to hold spaces for individuals who are in service to the guild at the workshop (i.e. if they are catering, providing transportation for the teacher, etc.). If there are more envelopes than spots a wait list will be created.
Only confirmed spaces will have their checks cashed. If you wish to be on the wait list, the treasurer will hold on to your payment and contact you when a spot opens. All waitlisted payments not used toward the workshop will be returned at the guild meeting following the workshop. If you have to cancel, notify the treasurer. She will attempt to fill your space off the wait list. If you are on the wait list and you decline a spot, your payment will be returned. If you cancel and the space is not filled, you will be responsible for the full cost of the workshop.
