Small group meetups are forming!

October 6, 2014

We’re all so eager for more community that we have seen some small (local) quilt groups forming. These groups meet occasionally (sometimes regularly), on days other than our regular Chicago MQG meeting days. They chat, sew, and socialize. If you’re interested in joining any of these groups please speak up and contact the organizer(s). Also, if you’d like to host some sewing friends feel free to speak up – post in the MQG site forums, or let an officer know so we can announce it at the guild meeting. Here are the local groups (thus far):

 Northwest side of Chicago group
Organized by Karen Flude – dates to be determined, contact Karen at kkflude at gmail dot com

Skokie / Evanston group
Organized by Beth Goldberg – one meeting has already taken place, more will be happening soon. Contact Beth at latkabeth at yahoo dot com

Stitch Bitch & Brew
Organized by Erika Mulvenna – this group has been meeting monthly for quite some time now. This group is not ChicagoMQG specific, but is a Chicago-based crafting group with a mission to inspire and support Chicago crafters in a social bar setting. It meets at a bar in Wrigleyville. Contact Erika for more info Erikasews at gmail dot com.

More small meetup days might be formed by the following people (email them and encourage them to do it?) Jen Stolzenback Karen Kells Debbie Pine If you’re interested in organizing / hosting / joining a group speak up! We want to sew with you!!
