Simply Solids: A Comparative Analysis of Solids Manufacturers

March 6, 2017
An example of a primarily solids quilt –
a CMQG charity quilt from years back
Do you use solids in you quilting? Have you wondered why this brand or that brand? Do you always buy what is on hand at your LQS or Big box craft store? Have you ever bought what you thought was the same color by the same manufacturer and found them not quite the same? What is up with that? Have you ever hunted for the perfect shade, but are you sure you checked everywhere?

At the March meeting, Heather Kinion will talk a little about what goes in to making solid fabrics as well as give an overview of many (but definitely not all) your options when it comes to solid manufacturers, and you will even get to feel the difference with samples from many, many different fabric lines!! Also, if any of this sounds like a school lecture, Heather has promised not to be boring and she suggests that if you are a fan of door prizes, you might find this meeting bearable anyway!

Plus show and tell, so make sure to bring your most recent finishes to share with the group.

All meetings are 2-5 pm on the third Sunday of the month, unless otherwise noted.

This month’s meeting is on Sunday, March 19, 2017.

Meeting location:

Rush Oak Park Hospital
Centennial Room
520 S. Maple Ave Oak Park, Il 60304
