Registration is OPEN for the Fall Quilting Retreat

September 1, 2017
It’s retreat registration time!

The Venue:

The Chicago Modern Quilt Guild holds a bi-annual retreat (Spring and Fall) each year at the Siena Retreat Center in Racine, WI, our home-away-from-home for our group getaways. This is a retreat to work on your own projects (bring a few!). Each person will have a spot to spread out, and the sewing room is open at all hours. The Siena Center is a very relaxing, welcoming place, run by Dominican Nuns.

The newly-built center is located in Racine, WI, right on Lake Michigan – and it’s gorgeous. Our group reserves the largest retreat room in the facility, the Oak Room, which allows us plenty of space to let our creativity run wild!

Retreats include lodging and food; you have your own private room with private bathroom, and meals are provided in the center’s dining room. We also have a fully-equipped kitchenette off of the sewing room with fridge, stove, coffee pots, kettles, and dishwasher. You’re welcome to bring food/snacks/drinks to have and share.

Some people enjoy sewing and visiting at a leisurely pace; others come with a list and a desire to get things done! It’s a fun time for all.

Dates:

This year’s retreat will have two options for Chicago Modern Quilt Guild members who choose to participate:

$196: 2-night (3-day) option: October 20 – October 22 (Fri, Sat, Sun)

$256*: 3-night (4-day) option: October 20 – October 23 (Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon)

*PLEASE NOTE: The price for the 3-night (4-day) option has been REDUCED FOR THIS RETREAT ONLY. Due to the fact that we know we have to be out of the facility by noon on Monday, we have adjusted the price to reflect the shorter than usual stay on this last day. Unfortunately, for this October retreat, another group is booked to use the space immediately after us, requiring an end time of 12:00 pm for our group. The good news is that we’ve been communicating with the Siena Center about end times going forward, and have been assured that the next three retreats (through Spring of 2019) will will have an end time of 5:00 pm. We are making every effort to be proactive and to not be surprised by early end times again.

Check-In time is (no earlier than) 1:00 pm on Friday.  For those leaving on Sunday, the noon meal is the last meal included in your fee.  You must also be out of your private room by noon, but you are welcome to stay on the grounds and in the workroom until the evening — you’ll just need to provide your own dinner.  Check-Out time is 12:00pm on Monday, and breakfast will be the last meal provided.
