On the Blog: October Meeting Recap

October 21, 2015
We were honored to host quilter, designer, and author Amy Garro at our October meeting.

She shared many of her beautiful quilts with our guild, and her enthusiasm for paper piecing was contagious! Amy keeps it real about inspiration, husbands, and getting stuff done.  We loved hearing her stories and seeing her impressive quilts up close!  If you want to see more of her work, visit her website or purchase her book, Paper Pieced Modern.

Member Heather K shared with us about entering quilts into QuiltCon 2016.  Look for more information on the blog about this soon.

Sarah E encouraged members to consider making a drunkard’s path inspired quilt for IQF this spring. (see this post for more information on that challenge)

We now have a guild library!  Thanks to Lucky Spool publications, we now have a beautiful library of quilting books that will be available to check out at each meeting. Please check back here and on the forums for more information on our new library, coming soon.

Next month we will host Cheryl Sleboda of muppin.com as she teaches us how to “work weekly” to stay inspired and develop our personal quilting styles.  Join us!

Next meeting: November 15 at 2pm
