July Meeting: Rossie Hutchinson

July 7, 2014

We’re excited to announce a guest speaker for our July 20th meeting. Rossie Hutchinson will be presenting on “Steal, deviate, mutate: making quilts like an artist.” Many of you know Rossie from her website, her influential flickr group, or from Camp Stitchalot. She is lecturing, and teaching a workshop at Quiltcon 2015, to quote her bio on the Quiltcon website:

“Rossie Hutchinson is an award-winning modern quilter.  Perhaps best known for founding and moderating the Flickr group Fresh Modern Quilts, she also writes a popular quilting blog and regularly contributes her quilt patterns to books and magazines. Her quilts have appeared in American Quilter, Quilting with a Modern Slant, Best Modern Quilts, 101 Patchwork Projects, and Modern Quilts Unlimited.  Rossie lives in Michigan with her husband, dogs, and enormous library of crafts books. She is a lecturer in Communication Studies at the University of Michigan and Program Coordinator for Camp Stitchalot.”
