Please join us on Sunday, October 15, from 2-5pm for a meeting that will be “All About Bags!”
Members Sarah Shulman, Holly Harper, Donna Moscinski, and Sally Prokopec will be sharing their bag-making experiences and expertise. They’ll tell us all about their favorite patterns, products, tips and techniques… as well as things that haven’t worked well for them, or that they don’t do. They’ll also bring bags they’ve made so we can check out the details and be inspired! Donna will bring the Tudor bag, shown below, plus a few other Sew Sweetness bags designed by local quilter Sara Lawson.
Would you like to contribute to the guild’s QuiltCon 2018 charity quilt?
Amy and Heather have been working out the details, and will have block designs and fabric at the meeting. Choose from one of seven block types and their variations. Fabric and basic instructions will be provided. Block are due back at our December 10 meeting, when the blocks will be put up on a design wall and the overall quilt design will be revealed! Blocks are 12″x12″ finished, and require pretty simple, straightforward piecing. There is opportunity for at least 33 people to participate. Find out more at the meeting.
Also on the agenda is a peek into the world of Quilt Market as former CMQG member Betsy Siber practices her “schoolhouse” presentation on us! Betsy’s first fabric collection for Michael Miller Fabrics, Everglades, is debuting at Quilt Market next month, and she’ll be giving us her talk about the fabric design as if we are “buyers” at Market.
