Guest Speaker & Trunk Show:
Be sure not to miss this Sunday’s meeting that will feature guest speaker Chawne Kimber.
The meeting starts at 2pm in the Centennial Room of Rush Oak Park Hospital (address below), and there will be a guest speaker fee of $10 for non-members, so if you are a returning member make sure you have renewed for 2017 prior to the meeting. Chawne Kimber (often found online at her blog Completely Cauchy or Instagram @cauchycomplete) is an artist known for her social justice minded quilts and her teeny tiny piecing. Her quilts have been featured at QuiltCon and in gallery shows around the country. We are lucky to have her as a guest and sharing a trunk show of some of her quilts and her artistic process with us this Sunday.
❆❆❆Special Note Re: Winter Gift Swap!!❆❆❆
The meeting will also include our Winter Gift Swap that was supposed to happen in our December meeting which unfortunately was canceled due to inclement weather.
Please bring your wrapped handmade swap gift item to the meeting, and you will get to take one home! It is a blind swap, so just wrap it in a non-holiday specific wrap and have it ready to be added to the gift pile when you arrive.
2016 Medallion Block of the Month Show & Tell:
There will also be a show and tell for the 2016 Medallion Block of the Month quilts, so be sure to bring yours maybe finished and maybe not quite yet finished.
We will do our best to have our usual general show and tell BUT be prepared for it to be a speedy one as this meeting will be jam packed with the guest speaker and the swap from December.
