February Meeting Recap

March 1, 2020

We were so pleased to welcome Shruti Dandekar from India! She stopped to visit Chicago on her way to QuiltCon, thank you to Emily L. for arranging all the details. Many members and their friends took her Portrait Class the day before her lecture. At our meeting we learned about quilting in India and how she got her start. One of the many highlights was we had the amazing opportunity view up close The Shivaarajyabhishek Quilt. Shruti created this quilt to celebrate the 390th birthday anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. It has been on display at India Quilts and last Fall at the IQF show in Houston, Texas. This quilt is 210’ x 86”! Please visit her blog 13woodhouseroad.com for more detailed info and follow her at the same name on IG and Facebook.

March 22, 2020 IT’S PARTY TIME!
It’s Chicago MQG 10th Anniversary Party! NOTE: we will be meeting at Pilgrim Church, here in Oak Park (only 1 ½ miles from our regular location and they have a parking lot). Needed ASAP if you have old pics from guild events, please send them to CMQGpictures@gmail.com A fun slide show is being planned. Everyone is asked to bring a quilt to display during the party in the sanctuary of the church. This is a not to miss event with former members who now live out of town are coming back to visit!
