DESCRIPTION:Kick off our summer potluck with an afternoon of color\, creativity\, and community! We will gather at LaBagh Woods\, Shelter 4 to create something unexpected at the Ice Dye Bar\, mend with style at the Sashiko Station\, and celebrate the joy of improvisational making together. Don’t forget to bring your stash for the fabric swap\, and your latest creations for Show & Tell.  \n\n\n\nSign up here to bring a potluck item and indicate if you plan to ice dye. \n\n\n\nActivity One: Sashiko Station \n\n\n\nAdd texture\, pattern\, and personality with the timeless art of sashiko stitching. We’ll have water-soluble stick-on patterns\, thread\, needles\, and practice fabric ready to go. Or bring a favorite textile\, garment\, or accessory to embellish with your own unique stitched details.  If you prefer to bring a current project and stitch alongside your fellow makers\, go for it.  \n\n\n\nWant ideas? Almost anything made from natural fibers works well\, so feel free to get creative. Here are some ideas. \n\n\n\n\nTank\, T-shirt or button-up shirt\n\n\n\nTea towel \n\n\n\nScarf or bandana\n\n\n\nTote bag\n\n\n\nFat quarters or up to a yard of fabric\n\n\n\nNapkins\, socks\, or another creative favorite\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThis activity is all about playful experimentation and improvisational creativity\, so don’t worry about making it perfect. Every fold\, twist\, and tie creates a one-of-a-kind surprise! \n\n\n\nWe’ll have the dyes\, gloves\, rubber bands\, tools and supplies\, you just bring: \n\n\n\n\nOne item to dye\n\n\n\nA plastic bag large enough to take your damp creation home\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nWant ideas?
