Explore the world around you by translating it into a pictorial quilt! In this step-by-step course, we will translate your community’s buildings and architectural elements into foundation paper piecing designs that capture your world. We will start with an overview of how to break down an architectural image into piecable components. Then, each participant will create a custom paper-pieced design featuring a building or architectural element of their choice using tracing paper and a pencil. (Techniques taught will translate to the computer programs of the participant’s choice once out of class.) We will finish the class by sewing a portion of the designs.
