CMQG Quilts at an Exhibition

July 3, 2014
At our last meeting Jen BB announced the possibility of an exhibit of our quilts at the University of Chicago Medical Center. That exhibit is a reality! Thanks to member Kathy DeVries and her contacts with the Healing Arts program, we have been asked to submit quilts for display in a public area. Please consider submitting for the exhibit, quilts may include but are not limited to the Modern in the City challenge quilts. Details are as follows:
Exhibit will be at the University of Chicago Medical Center in the Center for Care and Discovery as part of the Healing Arts program.
The exhibit will run for three months, July-October, 2014.

It will include a maximum of 30 quilts.

Each member may submit up to 2 quilts each, if we receive more than 30 quilts only one of yours may be displayed.
The maximum size is 60″x 60″.
Quilts must have a 4″ hanging sleeve and a label with your name and contact information.
Quilts will be covered by insurance and be under video surveillance.
Quilts will be due for submission at the July 20 meeting. You will fill out a form with the quilt name, your name, size, and statement (inspiration and process).

If you are unable to attend the meeting we are working on arrangements for other submissions and will post that information when it’s available.
We hope you’ll consider entering a quilt for this exhibit. It has been a goal of our guild to show our quilts in public, and this is a good opportunity. Please comment here or contact Sarah Shulman before July 15 or Jen Benoit Bryan after July 15 if you have any questions.
