We are so excited to be hosting Chawne Kimber to teach a workshop in hand quilting on January 14th, 2017 from 10am-4:30pm including lunch at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Glen Ellyn, as well as a lecture and trunk show at the regular January guild meeting. This class does not require a sewing machine but it does have some quilt sandwich preparation to be done prior to class–full details will be sent to students upon registration.
Chawne will also be giving a lecture at the regular Chicago Modern Quilt Guild meeting on Sunday, January 15th, 2pm in the Centennial Room of Rush Oak Park Hospital (location information at the bottom of this post). This lecture is open to the public. Admission is free to members and $10 for non-members payable at the door.

Chawne has had quilts in Quiltcon West and Quiltcon in Austin as well as a recent show at the Tallgrass Art Gallery, and has taught quilting nationally. Her work can be explored via her blog Completely Cauchy and on her instagram account @cauchycomplete.
There are a maximum of 20 student spots available in this workshop which will be filled in a first come, first serve fashion once sign-ups go live, and payment must be made at the time of sign up in order to be entered into the class. We do expect this workshop to fill up. The workshop will be $75 for Chicago MQG members and $95 for non-members–who will be eligible to sign up December 20th IF spaces are still available.
Sign ups will initially be through a form linked through the Chicago Group of the Modern Quilt Guild’s Website, but it will be linked a little farther on in this blog post, although the sign up form will not be live until 7pm November 29th. After December 20th, the sign up will be available here IF there are spaces available. A wait list will be maintained once the class has filled.
Full refunds will be available until January 1st if you are signed up but must cancel.
