A Workshop with Jacquie Gering

August 13, 2012

Saturday, August 11, the CMQG held its first day-long workshop. Jacquie Gering led the group in the flip-and-stitch technique, using Bling Copilot from her book Quilting Modern: techniques and projects for improvisational quilting

We all worked with a design wall and tried our hand at improvising a design, once Jacquie explained the basics. Here’s Sarah E’s initial design.

New member Shannon seemed to be getting the hang of things.

And here’s Reneau creating on her design wall.

The key to this design is color, and Jacquie brought us her bins of scraps.

This is Mary S’s starting to take shape.

And Eileen works very in a very creative way.

Here’s the stash of the wild and wacky Debbies. It was a good day, and there will be more results posted!
