Our guild is so excited to present our November Guest lecturer, Sherri Lynn Wood. Sherri is an accomplished quilter and author who will be teaching at the 2015 QuiltCon. She is a regular instructor at Penland School of Craft, holds an MFA in Sculpture from Bard College and is eagerly anticipating the publication of her book The Improv Handbook for Modern Quilters next Spring. We were so lucky to be able to host her as she travels through Chicago.
All members are invited to the Lecture and Meeting. Members interested in signing up for the Workshop are invited to do so by the usual lottery process. We will begin accepting entries immediately. If space remains after the lottery selection following our regular September meeting, non-members will be welcome to register.
At November’s meeting we will host Sherri Lynn Wood. She’ll be lecturing on the topic, “Improvisational Patchwork and Process” Learn the ins and outs of improvisational quilting! Due to scheduling issues, this meeting will be held on a Monday.

Sherri will teach an all-day workshop from 10 am to 5 pm on Monday November 17.
The topic selected is “Get Your Curve On”. Here is Sherri’s description of this program
Get your curvy-quilty-modern groove on in this improvisational quilt-making workshop. Participants will explore modern approaches to improvised quilt making and composition, while learning innovative wedge-strip and curve piecing techniques. All skill levels but intermediate and advanced sewers will make more progress
