Don’t forget, our November meeting will be held on a Monday!
Monday, November 17th 6:30pm – 9:00pm
Elmhurst Christian Reformed Church
149 W Brush Hill Rd,
Elmhurst, IL 60126
We‘re excited to have a lecture by Sherri Lynn Wood on the topic of Improvisational Process and Patchwork. All members and non-members are welcome. There will be a $5 fee at the door for non-members.
Here’s a little bit of a taste of the lecture by Sherri: “Improvisation is a process of mind at the heart of every great creative endeavor. Music, dance, theater, drawing, cooking, conversation, play, life, and even science benefit and innovate through the flexibility of mind that improvisational process engenders. We all improvise every day, so why not bring it into our quilt making! This multi-media presentation includes images of African-American quilts in the improvisational style, work featured in The Improv Handbook For Modern Quilters, student work, and time-lapse process videos.”
We can’t wait to see you at our November meeting!
We will also host Sherri Lynn Wood for a workshop earlier in the day on the 17th, Detailed information, supply lists, etc has been emailed to those registered for the workshop. For more information about the workshop see the blog post here.
