On the Blog: Amy Garro Interactive Trunk Show (& Lecture) at October 2015 meeting

October 1, 2015
Do you dream of perfectly matched seams?

Do you have visions of creating precision piecing?

Are you in awe of people who create intricate masterpieces?

Do you want to be inspired by someone who is *really* good at paper piecing?
Lastly, do you like to touch other people’s quilts?  (If you’ve read this far, yes, yes you do, keep reading.)

Come to our October meeting to meet Amy Garro of www.13spools.com.  Amy is a modern quilter whose style is structured, striking, mathematical, and geometric. She describes herself as leaning heavily on the use of strong lines when creating compositions, and draws inspiration from architecture.  In March of this year her book Paper Pieced Modern was released.

Amy also practices the graffiti method of quilting.  Here’s a sample drawing of her style from a recent workshop she did in Toronto, Canada:

Excited yet?
Amy will be our guest lecturer at our regularly scheduled monthly guild meeting.  She will be leading an “Interactive Trunk Show.”  This means that you not only get to see many of her beautiful quilts in person and hear her speak about her technique, but you also get to TOUCH ALL THE QUILTS!

Mark your calendars and plan to join us on
