Come to our November meeting for a lecture and trunk show from talented quilter and artist, Cheryl Sleboda, of Muppin.com.
Cheryl works in the comic book industry by day and is a fiber artist by night. She is fascinated by the intersection of technology and textiles. Juxtaposing heirloom techniques in modern quilts is part of her design aesthetic. Truly innovative, her more recent work incorporates LEDs, microprocessors, and other electronic components to make fiber art and quilts that light up!
In her lecture “Working Weekly – Staying Inspired – How small quilts helped me find my artistic voice,” Cheryl will talk about how working weekly and working small can help you define your artistic vision and make you a better quilter. She’ll have a trunk show of her quilts for eye candy, and will also have kits and patterns available for sale.
We will also be confirming receipt of annual dues and membership information at this meeting (check back tonight for the membership sign up form with online/electronic payment options.
And, of course, we’ll make sure there’s plenty of time for show-and-tell at the end, so bring your finished projects from the last month!
