SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: December Meeting CANCELLED

December 11, 2016

From our president:

It is with regret and abundance of caution that the Chicago Modern Quilt Guild meeting for today, December 11th is canceled due to inclement weather.

While the severity of our the current winter storm is varied over the Chicagoland area, it is predicted to continue to snow, sometimes heavily, through the early evening hours.   We’ve also been checking IDOT’s winter road conditions map, http://apps.dot.illinois.gov/winterroadconditions/pages/wrc.htm, and want to heed the advice of the National Weather Service that recommends only emergency travel today.

While the need to quilt is often an emergency for many of us, the need to drive across snow and ice doesn’t need to be a factor for us today.   We are beyond disappointed to have to cancel.  Here’s hoping this “found time” today will enable you to stay warm and make something beautiful!

If you made a gift for our holiday swap, please bring it to our Sunday January 15, 2017 meeting where we will host guest lecturer Chawne Kimber (IG: @cauchycomplete, blog: https://cauchycomplete.wordpress.com/).  There *may* be one or two spots left in her workshop on Saturday the 14th

–Sarah Evans, president
