It is a widely recognized fact that quilters will acquire more fabric than they can use in one lifetime. But what do you do with the acquisitions when you can no longer use them?
Chicago Modern Quilt Guild is a volunteer-run organization and though we are mighty, we are small and do not have guild storage space for your fabric donations.
While we can post about your donation in our Facebook group (and put you in touch if someone does want to take it), a better option is to reach out to institutions like The Wasteshed, which has locations in Chicago and Evanston. ChicagoTextile Recycling and Creative Chicago Reuse Exchange also take donations of fabric and sewing notions.
If none of those organizations are able to take your donation of clean quilting cotton, use the contact form to connect and see if we can announce it in our guild’s Facebook group.
