The mission and purpose of the Chicago Modern Quilt Guild is to provide a community based on common interests, building friendships, sharing inspiration and educating each other with a focus on modern quilting. The guild supports and encourages the growth and development of modern quilting through art, community building, and education.
The Chicago Modern Quilt Guild was founded in 2009 by Mary Pustejovsky, with support in the first year of officers Beth Kovacic, Sue Ryan, Ebony Love, and Sarah Shulman.

The Chicago Modern Quilt Guild is committed to providing an environment free of discrimination of all types. All participants deserve to feel safe and respected at our events and within our online community.

We do not tolerate discrimination, harassment, personal attacks or hateful comments.
Membership comes with many benefits: a monthly newsletter, charity projects, sew-alongs, VIP sign-up opportunities for workshops, the option to gather for our spring and fall retreats, and free admission to all meetings, including guest speaker presentations (previous speakers include Jacquie Gehring, Mary Fons, Heidi Parkes and Chawne Kimber, to name a few).
Members also gain access to the benefits of belonging to the international Modern Quilt Guild, including monthly learning opportunities and early bird registration to QuiltCon, our annual conference.
